We want to make it easy for all of our customers to recycle responsibly and limit the toxic pollution and e-waste in landfills. Our recycling program is available at most of our stores across Canada so you can recycle batteries and select electronics, even if you didn't buy them from us.

 

The following items are accepted for recycling:

Their mission is to find new homes for as many books and other media as possible. 

 

They take (Minimum quantity of 2 boxes of books.  No maximum)

FURNITURE


Furniture Bank: Furniture Bank is a charitable organization and social enterprise that has been helping people in the Greater Toronto Area establish their homes since 1998. Furniture Bank accepts gently used furniture and household goods and redistributes them to people in marginalized communities. – https://www.furniturebank.org/request-a-pick-up/

To cover the cost of the pickup, our competitive furniture removal pricing starts at $160.00 and is based on the size of your items and number of pieces. As a charitable service, we don’t charge HST on our pickups and you will receive a charitable tax receipt for the value of your items.

Habitat Restore:

By donating to ReStore, you will:

  1. Divert perfectly good items from landfill

  2. Benefit from free pick-up for certain items (e.g. kitchens)

  3. Support a great cause without spending any money, since all ReStore profits go to Habitat for Humanity

  4. Help a family in your community secure a safe and decent place to live

  5. Your donated items create possibilities for our ReStore shoppers and for families in need of affordable housing.

Diabetes Canada:  https://declutterfordiabetes.ca/pickupAll items must be packed in sealed bags or boxes, weighing less than 40 lbs., and placed on the doorstep to ensure a safe, contactless pick up for our donors and staff.


CURBSIDE OFFERS


Durham Region Curbside Giveaway Day events are organized in cooperation with the local municipalities, where residents place unwanted items in good condition—clearly marked FREE—on their curb for anyone to pick up. At the end of the Giveaway Day, residents return unclaimed items to their home.
